Monday Check in..

Another beautiful day in Maui. We had some drizzle in the morning yesterday and Saturday night there was some thunder and lightning, but not a whole lot of rain. Enough for the grass to grow, but not enough to make big puddles. The skies have been clear - no vog since about the first 4 days that Nathaniel and Zach were here.

Christmas at DW, Another beautiful day.

Yesterday we decorated for Christmas at Designing Wahine Emporium. 47 days to Christmas. I checked.
Today is another beautiful day. Sunny this morning with a few scattered clouds. It's cooler in the morning and night but very comfortable. Nathaniel leaves tonight :(

It's Fall...

Went for a walk yesterday morning. It was beautiful. There's a slight coolness to the air that says it's fall. We've had a few spritzles but not very much rain. The air is clear and clean. It's gotten cooler at night and in the mornings. The beach at Charley Young was beautiful yesterday - beach was big and the water warm. Not too blazing hot but still quite warm. Ended our day today with a sunset at Hookipa.

And the trades come back

The dreariness of vog and sticky days has gone with the wind - quite literally. Two days ago, the trades have returned, the skies are blue again and the mountains wear their daily haku of clouds. It's gotten a little cooler at night and in the morning but the days are pleasant. The skies have turned the tired shade of fall's faded periwinkle blue. But still it is glorious to live in Maui. We soften in the winter, we rest, we wait for the coming of spring and the frenzy of summer but for now we rest.
